Dear CSP alumni,
Let me first extend my warmest greetings to you all.
Since the outbreak of H1N1 swine flu in April, we considered the possible risk that could be brought to our delegates, which led to a decision announced on 20 May 2009 to postpone the CSP10 originally scheduled for July 2009. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of you for the kind understanding on the need for such decision as well as the financial loss and pressure brought to CSP. On the other hand, the CSP Organizing Committee appreciates the fact that such postponement may have caused financial loss to some of the applicants; a financial aid arrangement was put in place in order to provide reasonable compensation to the concerned group. We have already concluded all postponement related matters and are now ready to announce the exciting details of our CSP Reunion 2010!
I am sure all of you have witnessed the world focused Beijing Olympic 2008 and the grand celebration of the 60th Anniversary of the Founding of the People's Republic of China in 2009 through various broadcasting media. In 2010, China is once again going to draw the attention from the world by hosting the World Expo in Shanghai. The expo, constituted by over 240 countries, cities and international organizations, is an opportunity for China to exhibit its inspiration on urban development. As such CSP decided to have our pre-reunion tour in Shanghai so that our CSP10 and CSP alumni delegates can visit the World Expo as a group; together with discussion forums, we hope to provide an overall understanding on the World Expo and the development of Yangtze River Delta. The pre-reunion tour also provides a branch-out arrangement for alumni to site visit major economic hubs of the Yangtze River Delta (tentatively Nanjing, Hangzhou, and Wuxi/Suzhou) while enjoying fellowship with other CSP alumni.
The focus of our CSP Grand Reunion 2010 will of course be the grand reunion gathering in Beijing where all CSP10 and CSP Alumni delegates will gather together to share the joy of such meaningful events of CSP in the past 10 years, to strengthen social network and to build more intimate relationship with our home country. The CSP Organizing Committee is hoping to invite China government officials to speak with us on the latest development and direction of China so that our delegates will be able to capture any up-coming opportunities. As the founder of CSP, I sincerely wish that the reunion will deepen your understanding and faith in the development of China.
Last by not least, may the coming year be a better one and I wish you every success in your studies and career!
See you all in the coming summer of 2010!
Warmest regards,
